Sign the employer letter supporting fast food employees
The Supreme Court is allowing the federal government to detain Californians based solely on where they work, the language they speak or the color of their skin. As immigration enforcement is ramping up raids in our state, I am committed to making my restaurant(s) safer for everyone. I therefore promise to:
(1) Implement the Constitutional Pledge to Protect California Workers’ Rights. The pledge lays out steps to:
(a) keep immigration agents out of employees-only areas without a signed judicial warrant;
(b) protect workers’ privacy, except as required by federal law, in cases of immigration audits or inspections;
(c) honor all workers’ legal and constitutional rights and protections.
(2) Ensure workers and managers are trained in complying with the Pledge.
(3) Support annual know-your-rights trainings, provided by trusted, independent trainers, for all fast food workers. This includes supporting legislation fast food workers are advocating in Santa Clara County and in Los Angeles to establish know-your-rights training programs.
I stand with my employees – born in the U.S. and abroad. I promise to safeguard their constitutional rights and ensure that they have the information they need to protect themselves and their families.
